B’s Bait/Dom’s Wondercheese
GCBC manufactures two different catfish doughbaits, B's Catfish Bait and Dom's Wondercheese. Both are handmade by first starting with ground cheese. The cheese is then placed in a mixer along with the remaining ingredients. When the desired texture has been reached it is then hand packaged. Why does this matter? It matters because each batch has been personally inspected to achieve consistent results.
Although both will fill your limit of catfish, they are different in texture and ingredients.
Dom’s Wondercheese
While Dom’s also stays on the hook, its biggest difference is the texture. Known to be a more of a gritty and wet feeling bait, Dom’s is also a favorite among catfisherman. It will also produce great opportunities to catch fish.

Suggested Use for bait:
- Use either a #6 or #8 treble hook. While larger hooks can be used, we have found it is unnecessary. Roll the bait into a ball that is just big enough to cover the desired treble hook and place on hook.
- Fish loose line if possible. In other words, leave your bail/spool open. As the catfish pick up the bait and swim off the line will begin to unravel off the spool. Close your spool/bail and when the line tightens up, lean back and set the hook. Remember to set the hook with feeling because you have to pull the treble hook through the bait and ultimately into the lip of the catfish.
- If the bait is too soft, simply add cornstarch. You can also leave the lid off of the bait, but be sure to leave out of direct sunlight.
- If the bait is too hard, add cooking oil.
